The portrayal of Chinese traditional mythological stories and the application of modern visual effects in film and television animation

Abstract

This paper analyzes the role shaping and application of modern visual effects in Chinese traditional mythological stories portrayed in film and animation. Through the analysis of multiple film and animation works, it is found that the application of modern visual effects can better showcase the mysterious atmosphere and magical elements in mythological stories, thereby enhancing the audience's visual experience. At the same time, character shaping has also been portrayed in a more diverse form in film and animation, enabling the audience to gain a deeper understanding of the characters in mythological stories and the cultural connotations behind them. Therefore, this paper believes that in the process of integrating traditional culture into film and animation, the application of modern visual effects and character shaping play crucial roles.
