Metaverse is a virtual world in which reality and digital realms interact and co-evolve. It seamlessly integrates the real world with the digital world through technological means, providing humanity with a new social platform and a creative space. The emergence of the metaverse not only offers new opportunities for the preservation and development of traditional culture but also presents limitless possibilities for modern design.First, this paper outlines the development history of the metaverse and modern design. Second, in the realm of modern design, designers are tasked with selecting appropriate elements from the Tang Dynasty furniture culture, combining them with modern technology, highlighting the Tang Dynasty furniture culture, and simultaneously considering user needs with a people-centric approach. Finally, it analyzes the practical application of Tang Dynasty furniture cultural elements in modern landscape architecture, interior design, public spaces, and electronic product design, incorporating elements from Tang Dynasty furniture culture into modern design.
