Abstract

In the current context of Open Science and Open Education, a participatory and constantly evolving space is taking shape, in which Knowledge Management (KM), supported by ICT, enables the construction of inclusive learning experiences within interdisciplinary environments. From this perspective, in December 2022, the Faculty of Education Sciences (FCE) of the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia (UPTC) endorsed the interdisciplinary elective KM with ICT, which has been offered to teacher education programs since 2023. The research sought to determine how ICT-mediated KM, from an interdisciplinary perspective, contributes to the development of Open Science practices in teacher education. To this end, the study explored its contribution to implementing Open Science and Open Education practices among future teachers. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted under the pragmatic paradigm, through which eight classroom projects developed by 18 students from the Computer Science Education program (LI) were documented in collaboration with basic and secondary education institutions in Tunja, Boyacá. The findings show effective interdisciplinarity among the areas of languages, computer science, history, psychology, and technology, as well as a significant relationship between digital resources created with freely accessible tools and the principles of Open Science. In conclusion, the integration of KM, ICT, and interdisciplinarity strengthens Open Science and Open Education in initial teacher education.
