Abstract

"Image misreading" can be defined as the phenomenon of altering the interpretation or representation of a visual image due to a lack of understanding, unfamiliarity with cultural context, or intentional creative permission.This concept is intrinsically linked to the study of visual culture, which is concerned with understanding how visual artifacts convey meaning in different societies and how those meanings are interpreted across various cultural boundaries.
