Abstract

Although digitalization is continuously rising in importance and the need for supply chain resilience is increasing, there has been limited empirical studies have been conducted showing the role of digital supply chain capabilities for digital agility to achieve supply chain resilience, particularly in the food manufacturing sector in Saudi Arabia. From the Dynamic Capabilities Theory perspective, this study investigates both the influence of digital supply chain capabilities on supply chain resilience, as well as the intervening effect of digital agility. The questionnaire was distributed to 205 employees and managers from food manufacturing companies in Saudi Arabia, and analyzed using the SEM technique. From a supply chain resilience point of view, the results show that digital supply chain capabilities have a significant positive impact on supply chain resilience, and digital agility has a positive impact on supply chain resilience. In terms of digital agility, it has a positive impact on supply chain resilience where digital supply chain capabilities also have a significant positive impact. Additionally, the results indicate that digital agility fully performs the function as the major mediation between digital supply chain capabilities and supply chain resilience.

Abstract

Atherosclerotic disease significantly impacts patients with type 2 diabetes, who often present with recalcitrant peripheral ulcers. The angiosome model of the foot presents an opportunity to perform direct angiosome-targeted endovascular interventions to maximise both wound healing and limb salvage. A systematic review was performed, with 17 studies included in the final review. Below-the-knee endovascular interventions present significant technical challenges, with technical success depending on the length of lesion being treated and the number of angiosomes that require treatment. Wound healing was significantly improved with direct angiosome-targeted angioplasty, as was limb salvage, with a significant increase in survival without major amputation. Indirect angioplasty, where the intervention is applied to collateral vessels to the angiosomes, yielded similar results to direct angiosome-targeted angioplasty. Applying the angiosome model of the foot in direct angiosome-targeted angioplasty improves outcomes for patients with recalcitrant diabetic foot ulcers in terms of primary wound healing, mean time for complete wound healing and major amputation-free survival.
